After having done two yard sales I have come to realize a few things.
One:
They are a lot of work. I did not realize how much time and effort it would take to do all of this on my part and others. Really. It has been a massive herculean effort.
Two:
That a lot of people want to help us move forward in adoption. There have been many who have come forward without being asked and have done so much by helping and donating.
Three:
That there are also many who do not realize what we are doing and how difficult it has been for us. I think about how unless you have gone through it, it is easy to pass by and do nothing. If we really felt and saw and KNEW what people were going through would we be so heartless sometimes? I believe not. And how many times have I been the same way. Selfishness is the most natural state of mind to be in. I mean I really have to work at not being selfish. So to those of you whom I have passed by on your road of suffering I am sorry. It is moments like this that I realize how much we all need each other to make it through.
And to those of my friends who are also suffering with infertility, and there are a lot, my heart goes out to you.

Hi everyone!
As some of you may know infertility can be genetic. And so it is with my case. Many of the women in my family have struggled to conceive, or to stay pregnant once they do. And many of them were able to have children either because they had the children when they were younger before their disease progressed, because of a lot of hard work, or it was a blessing from our Father in Heaven.
About a year ago after trying to get pregnant for 6 months, I realized being over 35 years I probably needed to go in and get evaluated.
The initial doctor I worked with ordered a bunch of blood tests, an x-ray with dye, and after all of that came out and told me I had unexplained infertility. Jaren had some tests done too, and he did not have any issues. Well, you know me, I am very curious and want answers.
So with this indefinite response we decided to see another doctor last August. And due to some advice from my sister in law, decided to go in for exploratory surgery. I waited to do this until October and underwent the procedure. They found endometriosis and a chocolate cyst. They burned much of it away and drained the cyst. After the surgery the doctors advice was that it was now my job to get pregnant withing two months time. Well we scheduled an IUI and it didn't work out. It was not a pleasant experience. An upon scheduling the next one I was given the run around because the nurses were telling me to do one thing and the doctor was telling me to do another. When I went to visit her to get a clear explanation of what I needed to do and complained about the miss communication, the doctor said to wait a month and keep in touch. Another inconclusive response.
Finally in February we went to the Utah Fertility Clinic. We received definite answers (stage III endometriosis, scar tissue on the fallopian tubes and ovaries) and through further study we knew that we couldn't afford the treatments prescribed both emotionally and financially. And we prayed. We prayed a lot. We got our answer to adopt through LDS family services. We are also looking into becoming foster parents. Of course we are also open to conceiving on our own and I have started acupuncture treatments and have found a fabulous book called "Making babies" There is a link on line to take a test that will give you further information on your fertility type if you are interested and then it gives suggestions based on your specific situtation: I am a combination of stuck and tired

If you are interested for your own benefit..
On a more spiritual side, I know that God can do all things. If we were meant to have our own children naturally he would make it so. There is a higher purpose to all that Jaren and I are going through at this time. And our future children were meant to come to us through a different path. If we/they didn't have this experience we would be different people. In order for us to become the people God wants us to be we need to go through this. I don't understand why. And the great thing is that I don't have to understand everything to trust in the will of God.
Regardless of what is to come we know we are supposed to adopt.
Love,
Emily and Jaren

Yard Sale/Bake Sale
Spring has sprung! and you might be thinking about doing some spring cleaning.
Our first fundraiser idea is to have a yard sale/bake sale every weekend this spring/summer from May to September (except holiday weekends like memorial day and fourth of July).
We are asking for donations. Either baked goods or used items. If you were planning on getting rid of anything, or need an excuse to clean out your basement/garage/attic and were going to donate it to the thrift store . . . why not donate it to us instead.
We are accepting everything and anything that is in saleable condition.
OR
If you want to donate your time we would also love the help with pricing, setting up, taking down, sitting at the bake sale table etc.
Contact Jaren 782-0834 or Emily 240-3277 to make arrangements with you either to pick up or drop off items. We will even help you box or bag it up if that is a concern.
Thanks Everyone!
Choosing Adoption
Hello Family and Friends!
Jaren and I are starting out on a new adventure and have chosen to adopt to begin our family. We will be updating you soon on why we chose this path and the journey we have been and will be taking. The phrase we chose for our blog Three equals eternity hopefully caught your attention. We believe that families are forever. Heavenly Father has a different route for us to become a family. We love each other and would love for the opportunity to have children. We will be posting info on fund raisers that we will be doing also. So join us in making our dream come true!
Love,
Jaren and Emily
